Oregon State University Core Education Website
Concept
The Core Education department needed a new website built from the ground up, as they were transferring to a updated version of their software program. Not only did I assist with building the website using the program Drupal 9, I also helped create the visual aesthetic and designed custom header graphics.
Goals
Using a student’s perspective, I aimed to create layouts that would make it easy to find specific information, especially for first time
viewers. I also knew that young adult viewers do not like large walls of paragraphs, so another goal for me was to figure out how to break up the text with other elements (color, dividers, pictures, etc) without detracting from the text itself.

Significance
As I was working within a university’s established branding system, I was extremely limited on what I could use for colors and graphics. Consequently, I was challenged to create something that could be visually interesting and stand out while using a system intended to make designs conform. The success of this project shows that I am able to work within a limited branding system, while creating a
product that fulfills the desired purpose in an appealing way.
